Campbell and Sally had organised things to a 'T', starting off with welcome champagne cocktails and some trivia questions. The winner ended up being the person who listens the most at Wine Club.

The big awards started to come out.

Firstly, the Sparkling of the Year was taken out by the Great Lakes Paddock Sparkling Shiraz. This wine was supplied by Lee-Anne and Michael. This was a great wine and if you are heading up the NSW Coast do drop in and visit this vineyard - they had 4 wines in the Top 10 of our value based Wine of the Year. When tracking this wine down for our awards, the awesome Robyn & Steve at Great Lakes Paddock sent through a voucher which went to our Hosts of the Year. Thank you!

White of the Year went to 2014 Degen Single Vineyard Chardonnay. A great Hunter wine served by Megan and Phil.

Red of the Year went to the Argentinians. Another great Malbec from near Mendoza, the Ernesto Catena Tahuan Malbec 2013. A beautiful wine, but hard to now get. This was served by Peter and Sean.

Hosts of the Year was won by Rolene and John for their awesome Gluwine and melted camembert spectacular.

And finally the big one. Our Wine of the Year is based upon not just our raw marks but due to the algorithms perfected over the years, takes into account the wines price. So the winner was ....

The 2013 Piano Piano Mario's Blend served by Rolene and John.  A gorgeous wine and we thank the team at Piano Piano for getting a few bottles for us.

After a sensational meal at the Reserve, we headed back to our Islington Compound for a feed and reflection session.

Thanks again for Campbell and Sally for both organising and your excellent hospitality!  Also great thanks to Great Lakes Paddock and Tim at the Reserve Wine bar.
